Tamilnadu Travel Guide

Tamil Nadu has the southern-most border of India and is one of the oldest areas where civilisation existed. It is often speculated that the local language Tamil is one of the first languages in the world, if not the first itself. Proof unearthed in the region shows that there were human like populations 300,000 years before homo sapiens from Africa came to the land.

The state is known for its numerous temples, Kanchipuram silk sarees, and spices among many other things. The major cities of the state are Chennai (the capital city), Madurai, Coimbatore, Mahabalipuram, Thanjavur, etc.

Tamil Nadu has its own classical dance form, Bharatanatyam, which originated in this part of the world. It is also famous for its other art forms, ancient literature, classical music, cuisines, etc. The state is home to numerous historical monuments, multiple pilgrimage sites, hill stations and heritage sites.
