Mughal Ruler Shah Jahan decided to construct a wonderful monument in 1931 to dedicate it his beloved died wife Mumtaz Mahal. In 1932, construction was started and after 22 years in 1653 it was completed. Taj Mahal was designed by the best architect of that time, Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. He combined Islamic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish, and Indian architectural styles to design to Taj Mahal and represent a perfect height of Mughal architecture.

To start off, the Taj Mahal is enormous, the principal dome has a height of 240 feet, and up to it are four delicate minarets that look like they are stretching to the sky. The whole building is composed of brightly polished white marble (Sangmarmar), and its facade has precious stones of jade, crystal, and lapis lazuli among others, the whole structure is being lavishly decorated.
When one imagines the whole thing—the extravagance of the building being glorified, all at once, by the beauty of the single stone taken out of the pile and then its splendor overpowering the whole. But still, the love story does not come to its end. The Taj Mahal is the epitome of Earth's great architectural works; it is an excellent mix of the Islamic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish, and Indian styles with a harmonious result that produces a building with soft symmetry that seems to be from a dream world. To its surprising degree not only the ambrosial architecture but also the calligraphy which on the entrance walls bearing Quran verses, is breathtakingly beautiful, contributes to a peaceful ambiance that envelops the entire visit.
The Taj Mahal is not just the edifice itself; it is resting on the Persian-style "Charbagh" layout gardens which are the most marvelous scenery. The gardens are like a living heaven and the heavenly pools with reflecting mirrors, moving water, and paths are there for you to walk in delicacy and beauty. The entire scene really contributes to the charm of the Taj Mahal and it is indeed a fairy tale like scene. The Taj Mahal is also in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is designated in 1983. It is considered as the masterpiece Muslim artform in India which draws visitors from entire world each & every year to be witness of India’s rich history, architectural excellence and timeless love.
