Varanasi, known as one of the oldest cities in the world, is a popular cultural and religious hub in India. Varanasi is home to more than 2000 temples and has immense cultural and historical significance associated with it. Millions of people, predominantly from Hindu faith, visit the city for religious purposes, to perform last rites, seeking salvation or just to get a transcendent cultural experience. Once you explore the city of Varanasi, you visit Agra where you get to witness some great Mughal rchitecture by visiting Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

The tour continues with visits to multiple cities of Rajasthan, namely Jaipur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur. Here you get to experience a different culture altogether that is more than two thousand years old. The different forts and palaces also show you how different Indian architecture was from the Mughal architecture. You can indulge in various activities like hot air ballooning, dune bashing, desert safari, camping and much more in these cities of Rajasthan. Tour Itinerary

Day : 1   Arrive Delhi

Our tour operator will welcome you at the airport and take you to the hotel that you selected before. You can enjoy the unique blend of rich history of the capital along with the urbaneness it has. Explore the city through the nearby places or just stay in the hotel if it is quite late.

Day : 2   Delhi - Varanasi (by flight)

In the morning, you go to places like Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar. The centuries-old structures have Mughal and Indo-Islamic styles of architecture, respectively. From there you go to witness some of the British era architecture in the shape of India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan and Parliament.

After sightseeing inDelhi, you take the flight to the holiest town in India- Varanasi. You can check in a local hotel or ashram and rest for the night before the long day.

Day : 3   Day in Varanasi

You start your day with a boat ride in the holiest river in India, the Ganga. Since Varanasi is considered one of the oldest cities in the world, it is a world filled with innumerable hints of human civilization living here. It is a paradise for those who love history and evolution of society in over generations. You can explore the busy streets, filled with temples of different Gods and Goddesses in the Hindu religion.

Some of the famous temples you get to visit are Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple, Durga Mata Temple and Bharat Mata temple. All these temples have something unique in them, like, for example, Bharat Mata Temple is the only temple in the country that has the country itself as the deity. You can enjoy the stunning views of a city residing on the banks of a river, by visiting any of the Ghats in there.

In the evening, you witness the Ganges Aarti, one of the highlights of the tour, which takes you to a trance at times. It also offers you an excellent opportunity to click some amazing pictures.

Day : 4   Varanasi - Delhi / Agra (4 Hrs Journey)

On day 4, you take back a flight to Delhi and straight will leave for Agra by road.

if time permits, you visit the Taj Mahal in the evening. Visiting Taj Mahal in the evening is a great option as you get to witness the beauty in during sunset, which is a moment that you will remember for a long time. The white structure reflects the golden-red colour of the sun during the evening hours, making it even more beautiful. From there, you check in your pre-booked hotel and have dinner.

Day : 5   Agra - Jaipur (5 Hrs Journey)

You visit the Agra Fort, the royal house of the Mughal Empire for decades. The Agra Fort has a lot of significance as the Mughal rule started its first steps from here. The initial rulers ruled from here before shifting their base to Delhi in the 17th century. Since the palace saw multiple rulers, every ruler had something built in the fort in his or her name. Some believed in opulence and grandeur like Shah Jahan while some believed in fortifications and security like Akbar.

After having lunch, you leave for Jaipur. You will reach Jaipur in 5 hours by road and if time permits, we take you to the Abhaneri Stepwell (a 100ft deep well), an offbeat tourist destination spot. You may rest at your hotel after you reach the city of Jaipur.

Day : 6   Day in Jaipur

A day well spent in Jaipur is enough to help you understand the rich cultural heritage of the city. Each of the monuments, forts or palaces you will visit have their own significance but the common thing in them is the amazing architecture you get to witness in all of them.

City Palace is just incredible in all the ways possible. It has humungous courtyards, royal palaces and multiple durbar halls. You get to witness paintings, murals, decorations on the walls, armoury and much more in the museum at the palace. Jantar Mantar or the Observatory is a place with 19 different instruments built to study the movement of celestial bodies to help the king strategize his wars. You then visit the Hawa Mahal, the ‘Palace of Winds’, which was 953 windows in it. You then visit the Amer Fort, set atop a hill in the outskirts of the city. You can then enjoy the local markets in the evening to indulge in shopping.

Day : 7   Jaipur - Bikaner (6 Hrs Journey)

You leave Jaipur to reach Bikaner by road. After the 6-hour drive, you can check in the hotel at Bikaner and then visit the Junagarh Fort. Anup Mahal, Phool Mahal, Chandra Mahal and Ganga Mahalare some of the many palaces or royal suites inside the complex of Junagarh Fort. All of them together are some of the finest examples of Rajasthani architecture, when the rule was at its peak.

Day : 8   Bikaner - Jaisalmer (6 Hrs Journey)

You start your sightseeing by visiting Lalgarh Palace Museum, which houses some of the best artefacts to give us an idea about the centuries old history of the local rulers. The Jain temple and Royal Cenotaphs are the other two top places to visit in Bikaner.

After the morning sightseeing of Bikaner in the morning, you leave for Jaisalmer, another 6-hour drive. You may rest at the hotel at night and spend some time at the hotel spa to relax.

Day : 9   Day in Jaisalmer

You get to visit the one of the oldest forts in Rajasthan, the almost 900-year old Jaisalmer Fort or the Sonar Fort as the local people call it. From the top of this fort, you get to see the complete city of Jaisalmer on one side and the Thar Desert on the other side.After the Fort visit, you go to different Havelis with each having its own uniqueness.

After the visit to Gadisar Lake, if there is time left in the day, you get to experience a camel ride at Sam sand dunes. Here, you can indulge in some camel safari, sand bashing and other such fun activities to have some quality time in the desert.

Day : 10   Jaisalmer - Jodhpur (5 Hrs Journey)

After your breakfast, you leave for the next city in the tour, Jodhpur.

You visit Mehrangarh Fort, undoubtedly the top tourist attraction in this city. The fort built in the 15th centuryis situated at 410ft above the rest of the city and hence has the best view in the house of the complete Jodhpur city. The fort houses several temples, palaces and courtyards. The massive fort has extensive fortifications, making it impenetrable back in the days. It has seven huge gates to enter but only a few are open to use now. The Mehrangarh Museum is one of the highlights of the Fort, housing all the artefacts, murals, paintings, armoury and other such things from that era. 

Day : 11   Jodhpur - Udaipur (6 Hrs Journey)

In the morning, you visit Jaswant Thada, a mausoleum built by Maharaja Sardar Singh in remembrance of his father. The white structure is one of the few cenotaphs built in white colour. You then visit the Mandore Garden, an ideal place to get some quality pictures of flora. 

You then leave for Udaipur in a 6-hour car drive from Jodhpur. Udaipur, the City of Lakes, has numerous lakes spread around the city. Most of the palaces and havelis are built close to these water sources. Spend the evening resting in your hotel, enjoying a swim or spa to freshen up.

Day : 12   Day in Udaipur

The City Palace of Udaipur, built on one side of the Lake Pichola, was the main fort palace of the royal family of Udaipur. On the other side of Lake Pichola are some of the other top attractions like Jagdish Mandir and Monsoon Palace, making it one of the most picturesque locations in Rajasthan. Such is the beauty that several filmmakers from around the world have used the palace and the surroundings as a set in their movies. Another place to visit in Udaipur is the Jag Mandir palace, located on the Jagmandir Island. Your day gets over with a dinner at the hotel, the final one of the tour.

Day : 13   Udaipur (Departure)

On the last day Your Rajasthan Tours finishes, as you take a flight to fly back home.
