Tour Itinerary

Day : 1   Arrive Delhi

The Select India Tour Operator will welcome you at the Delhi airport upon your arrival. After the warm welcome, you will be taken to the pre-booked hotel. You may enjoy the evening at the hotel or visit the suburban Delhi and enjoy the nightlife.

Day : 2   Delhi - Jaipur (5 Hrs Journey)

In the morning, you visit some of the best monuments in the city like Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb and India Gate. While the first two show the Indo-Islamic and Mughal architecture the latter shows British architecture. Humayun’s Tomb has large gardens surrounding the main mausoleum, adding to the beauty of the place. Qutub Minar, at 73m tall, is the tallest brick minaret in the world. India Gate, a war memorial, stands on Rajpath directly opposite to the Rashtrapti Bhawan (The President’s Residence). 

After having lunch, you will be leaving for the capital city of Rajasthan- Jaipur. You may rest at the hotel for the night and enjoy some delicious delicacies from the local cuisine.

Day : 3   Day in Jaipur

This day is all about exploring the city of Jaipur by visiting all the major tourist attractions of the place. You first visit the Amer Fort, set on top of a hill. The interesting thing here is that you reach the top of the hill riding an elephant through the stone-laden path. Here, you get to see some of the finest works of Rajput architecture and Indo-Saracenic architecture.

Post that you visit the City Palace of Jaipur, the best of all palaces in the city. It has some beautifully designed courtyards, durbar halls, royal suites and museums that shows the different artefacts, paintings, attires and weapons that the royals used. Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar are the other two places to visit on this day.

Later on, you can enjoy the local street markets in the Pink City and buy some handicrafts or local jewellery. Enjoy the local dishes for the dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day : 4   Jaipur - Agra

After having breakfast, we take a 5-hour drive to reach the old capital city of the Mughal Empire, Agra. On the way, we take a small detour to reach the Abhaneri stepwell. It is an ancient stepwell, close to 1200 years old and is approximately 100ft deep.

Once in Agra, you get to witness the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort before sunset. You can first visit Agra Fort and take a look at the different structures, built over decades by different Mughal rulers. From there, you go to one of top attractions of the tour, Taj Mahal. Seeing the white structure during the time of sunset is a different experience in every sense.

Day : 5   Agra - Delhi / Chandigarh (by Train)

You leave for Delhi in the morning via road, which would take less than 4 hours. From Delhi, you board the Shatabdi Express Train to reach Chandigarh.

Once you reach Chandigarh, you stay in a hotel overnight. You can enjoy the nightlife of the city by indulging in shopping in a mall or some local markets as well.

Day : 6   Chandigarh - Shimla (3 Hrs Journey)

In the morning, you get to visit the three most famous tourist attractions in the city, Rock garden, Sukhna Lake and Rose Garden. Rock garden has numerous statues and other structures made out of rocks from different origins. Sukhna Lake is an ideal location to spend some quality time by chilling at the lakeside and enjoying the amazing view.

After that, you leave for Shimla, which is just two and half hour long drive from Chandigarh. Once you reach Shimla, check in the hotel and then explore the local area around your hotel. You can spend your evening at the Mall Road, watch a movie or sit and relax in one of the cafes.

Day : 7   Day in Shimla

The whole day is for sightseeing in Shimla, Jakhoo Temple is one of the top attractions of Shimla because of a short trek that you need to take to reach there. The trek allows you to experience the amazing vegetation around you and have fun while trekking. Viceregal Lodge and the State Museumare the other two attractions of the hill station. You can see the influence of British rule in the hill station, as it was the summer capital of India once.

When you come back down, you get to visit The Ridge, a beautiful location to take pictures. The snow-capped mountains offer a stunning view, which is ideal for photography lovers.

Day : 8   Shimla - Delhi Airport

On the final day of the tour, you leave for Delhi via road, which is an 8-9 hour journey. There will be stops for you to have the meals on the way.
